Marco A. Domínguez

Born in Hollywood, California, Marco is a first generation Mexican-American in this country. His father is from Cerro Agudo, Sinaloa, and his mother is from Leon, Guanajuato. Growing up in Southern California, Marco was able to study at East Los Angeles Community College, the college where his father retired from his teaching career.

After giving the commencement speech at his graduation, Marco was approached to study at Northern Michigan University. There he completed his undergraduate and his masters degrees. He also was able to go to Mexico City for four summers in a row to experience real Mexican theater with Dr. Timothy Compton. On top of that, he met poet Austin Hummell and embarked on a serious writing career that has led him to Texas Tech and now Arizona.

Marco has four sisters that have made their way into his poems and provide motivation to continue to this endeavor. Got to make the little ones proud. He is currently working with them on a few collaboration projects.

Marco is also working on a children's book with his talented wife. Without her, life would not be so bright or worth going through. She is the biggest motivation and best partner in the world.
